  • Behavior Detection Officers were created and trained to assess and mitigate this type of threat.  Unfortunately, it is doubtful they are being properly utilized by the TSA.

  • Two issues here, Screeners and Policy. Stay focused and keep them separate. Mica's idea does not address Policy. An airport that goes private will cost the U.S. tax payer more money (GAO-09-27R). An airport that goes private must still enforce TSA policy (look at SFO).

  • How much money are they paying you Mica? Change the policy and restrict the TSA. Stop trying to profit from this debacle, by making the suggestion to privatize. SFO is private. Nothing there is different. Same TSA policies apply there too.

  • Rep. John Mica has his own agenda. His suggestion to replace the screeners do not address the underlying issue of TSA policy. Look at SFO.
